Customer impressions captured through real experiences

Guests often share how much they enjoy the freshness and balance of the dishes. These small bites serve as a pleasant introduction to the broader menu, giving diners a glimpse of the care put into each offering.

Visitors also appreciate that the portions are generous without being overwhelming. The price point aligns with expectations for a central Melbourne eatery, making it a reliable option for regular lunchtime visits or casual dinners. Consistent feedback points to the friendly service that enhances every meal. Staff members move with efficiency, delivering dishes promptly while maintaining a sense of warmth that keeps guests returning.

A closer look at the pho selection

Pho is the heart of the menu and the reason many come back again and again. The Spicy Pho Rare Beef and Chicken offers a lively kick that warms the palate, making it a popular choice during cooler days. The Pho GA presents a gentler flavour profile, perfect for those wanting something soothing. Meanwhile, the Pho with Beef Ribs introduces hearty, tender meat that falls apart with every bite.

For fans of aromatic spice, Beef Lemongrass brings a bold, fragrant depth that pairs beautifully with noodles and fresh herbs. Each bowl features the signature condiments associated with pho, including basil, bean sprouts, lime, and chilli, allowing every diner to customise the dish to their liking.

Beyond pho with dishes full of texture and aroma

While pho is the star, many customers explore the broader menu for variety. Bun Bo Hue Crispy Pork brings together the traditional central Vietnamese soup style with the crunch of crispy pork. Fried Beef Pho Noodle highlights a stir fried variation, giving the familiar noodle and beef combination a smoky character.

The Roast Pork Banh Mi offers an appealing contrast of crisp bread, savoury meat, and fresh vegetables. The Ginger Rice with Crispy Chicken and Crispy Pork Belly with Rice both provide comforting meals with well balanced textures. These dishes appeal to diners who want something hearty but still rooted in Vietnamese tradition.

Refreshing drinks and familiar favourites

Pho Flinders Express also draws attention for its drinks. Vietnamese Iced Coffee stands out with its rich flavour and creamy sweetness, giving diners a satisfying caffeine boost. Those looking for something lighter can choose from Matcha Tea, Deluxe Fruit Tea, or colourful cold beverages that complement the savoury dishes on the menu. The Gold Fish drink adds a fun and refreshing option for visitors wanting something unique.

I had traditional Pho soup with beef. A small portion cost $17. The service was fast. The soup was delicious. I had lunch here twice.

It serves authentic Vietnamese cuisine with great broth and fresh ingredients. Offers a variety of pho options, including rare beef and brisket. Staff are friendly and offer prompt service. If you miss Indonesian style fried rice, the fried rice here is perfect.

I used to visit the old location in Flinders Street before they shut down. This is not my first visit here and never disappointed me. Bought take away on many occasions and this is my first eat in experience. Ordered crispy pork noodles and it was really delicious. Will visit again soon and highly recommended to everyone, who is looking for a good place to eat Vietnamese cuisine in Melbourne City.

The cuisine at this restaurant is simply delectable, boasting dishes that are both enticing and satisfying. While the dining area is somewhat compact and there was a minor hiccup in communication during the ordering process, the experience was overwhelmingly positive. The quality and flavor of the food transported us back to the familiar tastes of home, even while abroad. Despite these minor setbacks, the meal left us thoroughly content and eager to return. When time permits, we look forward to exploring more of the menu's delightful offerings. It's certainly a place worth revisiting.

I love these rough and ready Asian places. This one has the usual Formica tables that are often just that bit sticky. Ordering was totally chaotic. The many dishes weren’t numbered and the server had trouble understanding us. In the end, another staff member came in and we were able to order and the food then came out quickly. The food was good. We enjoyed the steamed pork bun and the prawn rice paper rolls. The latter were tasty and super fresh. The rare beef coleslaw was a beauty too. A really decent size and full of flavour with just enough chilli to warm the lips. The stir fried chicken with noodles was fine too with a nice sauce. This is a good place. Service is good. The food comes rapidly. And, it’s good value

Went for dinner when we happened to pass the area. Location is great as it faces flinders station directly. Had the noodle soup with beef balls. The food is OK but service could be improved

Pho Flinders Express, located across Flinders Station, is a popular spot for delicious Vietnamese pho. Offers a variety of pho options, including rare beef and brisket, with prices starting from around AUD 17 for a small bowl. Staff are friendly and offer prompt service. The restaurant also has a quiet atmosphere and cute decor. It serves authentic Vietnamese cuisine with great broth and fresh ingredients, and the broth is comparable to an authentic pho in Vietnam. I ordered the small chicken pho, which is enough for me. Prices are slightly lower than those of other similar restaurants, but be aware that there may be additional fees for credit card payments. If you're in the area and craving a good bowl of pho, Pho Flinders Express is definitely worth trying.

Found ourselves here after a recommendation, although the restaurant has been here since 2013. I must have walked past many times and never been in. We both ordered the “rare beef and brisket pho” my friend had this since he didn’t want the tendons and they didn’t have the beef balls he wanted nor his choice of beer. Maybe because it was a public holiday and we overheard some other customers not been able to order their first choice of meal/ingredient. Nevertheless the pho was the softest rice noodle we’ve ever had but still was intact and not broken strands. The beef was fragrant and tasty. The brisket was thinly sliced and I mistook it for the rare beef slices. Broth wasn’t particularly rich but wasn’t thin neither. Piping hot broth; this hit the spot. Will be returning for our fix of hot soup especially as Southern Winter sets in.
